Improv

Weekend Intensive

It has been years since I have taught an intensive or series workshop. I have been very busy refining my skills at countless drop in classes. I have succumbed to the pressures of our artistic director and broke down to teach a Saturday Intensive improv comedy workshop. The hardest part of this is putting together a blurb for oneself.

Saturday February 4th 9am. $75 paid in advance. Learn the new lingo of goal based scene work and have a blast. Sign up and payment is through Brown Paper Tickets  or Colette at info@staircase.org.

Genus Haiku Ad Hoc Horriblis

I was involved in a spontaneou Haiku crossfire while chatting with a very literate couple on google chat. It turns out that a Haiku is composed of 17 syllables in three lines with 5 syllables then 7 syllables then 5 syllables. Here are two results.

Challenge: toes and dog

Row of ten toes wait
For loving tongue of dog
To wet them laughing

Challenge: manicure and tampon

Cut my nails short
To keep my vulva untorn
When tampon goes in

Go See This Show

This wonderful show is the creation of Jill Bourque from San Francisco. It gets a couple of lucky couples up on stage and improvisers create reasonably accurate on stage renditions of “How We Fist Met.” This show has been mounted by Staircase Improv before and promises to be a blast again. Besides I just like the poster. Can you spot the Improv Rubber Chicken?
